Rosemont had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-19-1 to make it five. They fell just short of the Bradshaw Christian Pride by a score of 14-13. On the bright side, the 13- run performance marked the Wolverines' highest-scoring game to date.
Talia Adams was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jalaya Cozart was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gabriyanna Vegafria, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
As for Bradshaw Christian, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12-1. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
Like Rosemont, Bradshaw Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaylee Hand. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and ten unearned) runs off ten hits. Hand was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Avery Slater was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Clarida, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
As of now, neither Rosemont nor Bradshaw Christian have any future games scheduled.
