Basketball Recap: Prentice Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Wabeno/Laona typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Prentice proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 77-65. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Wabeno/Laona lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cooper Albrecht, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 23 points. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Winkelman, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 16 points and seven boards.

Prentice's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Wabeno/Laona, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5.

Prentice and Wabeno/Laona should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Buccaneers (ranked 131st) will meet Abbotsford (ranked 412th) at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Wabeno/Laona will take on Bowler at 7:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (194 vs. 443).
