Baseball Game Preview: West Point Dragons vs. Eagle Point Eagles

The West Point Dragons will face off against the Eagle Point Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Point is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

West Point had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Vista Ridge on Tuesday. The Dragons blew past the Wolves 13-3. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

West Point got a great performance from Adam Vasquez as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Vasquez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Marco Medina, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenyer Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Meanwhile, Eagle Point came up short against Brighton on Wednesday, falling 9-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Point's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Eagle Point, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
