Baseball Recap: Yorba Linda Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Yorba Linda entered their tilt with Heritage on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Yorba Linda got a great performance from Troy Radomski as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Radomski also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Yorba Linda is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Owen Smith was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Yorba Linda: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Thomas Knutson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Yorba Linda's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Yorba Linda will host Alta Loma at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Heritage, they will square off against Crean Lutheran at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crean Lutheran's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
