Volleyball Recap: Upper Scioto Valley Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Upper Scioto Valley and Hardin Northern had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rams lost 3-0 to the Polar Bears on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-15, 25-15.

Raegan Castle paced Upper Scioto Valley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Castle got some help from Audrey Lawrence and her 15 assists. Ruby Risner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Alaina Thomas was nothing short of spectacular for Hardin Northern: she had 26 digs and two aces. Thomas is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Upper Scioto Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Hardin Northern, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Upper Scioto Valley will be taking part in a tournament against New Riegel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hardin Northern, they will take on Vanlue in a tournament on Wednesday.
