Basketball Recap: Chicago Marshall's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Chicago Marshall, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Julian Jaguars on Tuesday as they made off with a 73-48 win. The Commandos not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 16th (when they won 70-36).

Chicago Marshall found their leader in sophomore Darrin Laye Jr, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Quinton Gibson was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Julian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Will Chapman, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakhi Calahan, who shot 45% from the field en route to 15 points.

Chicago Marshall's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Julian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Chicago Marshall has already played their next contest, a 57-51 win against Westinghouse on the 4th. As for Julian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-47 defeat against Lindblom on the 4th.
