Baseball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs, falling 15-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on June 9th.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Dallas Center-Grimes, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat Newton by a score of 11-1 later that day.
