Basketball Recap: Affton Comes Up Short

Affton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to the Sumner Bulldogs. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Affton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sumner, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Affton will square off against Lutheran South at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sumner, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 93-34 defeat against Lee's Summit North on the 10th.
