Mitchell Labrado Turns in Season-Best Performance

Sadly, Mitchell Labrado posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Laguna Creek over Elk Grove on Friday. Labrado threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. His passing game has become a key predictor of Laguna Creek's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

On the year, Labrado has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 139.2 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after five games last season, he was only averaging 5.6 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 17.8 rushing yards.

A Season-Best Effort from Jacob Beals Leads Pleasant Grove over Franklin

On Friday, Pleasant Grove got the W thanks in part to Jacob Beals playing the best football he has all season. Beals picked up 162 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Pleasant Grove is 3-1 when Beals posts two or more receiving touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Franklin's probably not too fond of Beals given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Beals saw the Wildcats), he rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
