Basketball Recap: Deuel Falls Short of Clark/Willow Lake in the Playoffs

Deuel and Clark/Willow Lake squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Deuel had to settle for second. They came up short against the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones, falling 65-43. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Cyclones recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Deuel's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxon Peterreins, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Peterreins is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last five games he's played. Troy Jenson was another key player, putting up seven points and five assists.

Deuel's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Clark/Willow Lake, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4.

Deuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clark/Willow Lake, they will square off against St. Francis Indian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis Indian will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Clark/Willow Lake surely won't give up without a fight.
