It was a good run, but Lufkin unfortunately witnessed the end of their 15-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-0 to the Hallsville Bobcats. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Lufkin's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 21-4. As for Hallsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lufkin is set to square off against their familiar foe Texas at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.2, the Tigers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Hallsville will take on rival Whitehouse at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
