Basketball Recap: Spencer Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Spencer won the last time they faced Colby, and Autumn Davis did her part to make sure it happened again. The Spencer Rockets blew past the Colby Hornets 55-35 on Thursday thanks in part to Davis, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 20 points in addition to five steals and three blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Spencer's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Krause, who posted eight points along with 12 boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

The victory (which was Spencer's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Colby, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Spencer and Colby could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. Spencer (ranked 119th) will meet Owen-Withee (ranked 26th) at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Colby (ranked 257th) will meet Marathon (ranked 56th) at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
