Baseball Recap: Alhambra Takes a Loss

Alhambra had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 11-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the San Marino Titans by a score of 5-4. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Alhambra saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yuuta Ngo, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Nero Navarro, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for San Marino, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

On San Marino's side, they gave Colin Wildeman the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Wildeman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Alhambra is taking a road trip to square off against El Rancho at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for San Marino, they will head out to face off against La Salle at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 3.4, the Lancers 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
