Baseball Recap: LeRoy Takes a Loss

LeRoy was the 3-2 winner over St. Thomas More when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Sabers by a score of 12-11 on Wednesday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Isaac Holoch and Brayden Haskett stepped up to the plate in a big way. Holoch went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Haskett went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Haskett is becoming a predictor of LeRoy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Haley, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

LeRoy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for St. Thomas More, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LeRoy will square off against Armstrong at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Thomas More, they will face off against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Sabers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
