If Pinole Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Vallejo, they should've done a better job of containing Carlisto Valetino. The Redhawks simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Spartans 56-26 thanks in part to Valetino, who rushed for 92 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Vallejo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Elijah Peace picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Vallejo has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.6 points over those games. As for Pinole Valley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Meanwhile, Pinole Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Saint Mary's at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for the Spartans and four for the Panthers.
