Baseball Recap: Manila Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Manila and Walnut Ridge had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lions might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to the Bobcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Manila's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Walnut Ridge, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Coming up, Manila will challenge Riverside at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Walnut Ridge, they are taking a road trip to square off against Greene County Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
