Volleyball Recap: Dixon Falls to Pioneer in First Game of Season

Dixon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Pioneer Patriots on Monday, falling 3-0. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-2, 25-13, 25-7.

Among those leading the charge was Layla Medalle, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last nine matchups. Audrey Newsom also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Pioneer, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dixon will welcome Winters at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pioneer, they will be playing at home against Vacaville Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
