Basketball Game Preview: Green Bay Preble Hornets vs. Bay Port Pirates

Green Bay Preble is 2-8 against Bay Port since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Green Bay Preble Hornets will welcome the Bay Port Pirates at 7:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Green Bay Preble had to suffer through a 77-40 loss at the hands of De Pere. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Redbirds are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Bay Port against Sheboygan South on Tuesday as the squad secured a 64-25 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Bay Port is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Green Bay Preble, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Green Bay Preble took a serious blow against Bay Port in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 80-52. Can Green Bay Preble avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
