Football Recap: Smoky Mountain Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Smoky Mountain can now relate to. They fell 40-28 to the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets on Friday. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Despite the loss, Smoky Mountain still got an impressive performance from Rylee Smith, who rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns. Smith has become a key player for the Mustangs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-7 otherwise.

A big part of Forest Hills' win came down to the chemistry between Noah Furr and his top target Demarion Hough. Furr threw for 118 yards and a pair of TDs while Hough picked up 67 receiving yards and one score. What's more, Furr racked up 104.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Cam Winnegan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Smoky Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Forest Hills, their record is now 9-2.

Smoky Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forest Hills, they will take on Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight.
