Basketball Recap: Plainfield East Takes a Loss

Plainfield East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 55-48 to the Plainfield Central Wildcats. The Bengals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 63-58.

When it comes to explaining why Plainfield East lost, don't look at Addison Haughian. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 17 en route to 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Haughian a new career-high in points. Valeria Ramos was another key player, putting up eight points.

Plainfield East's loss dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Plainfield Central, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-19.

Plainfield East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-46 win against Romeoville on the 3rd. As for Plainfield Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-26 defeat against Naperville North on the 1st.
