Volleyball Recap: Scottsbluff Comes Up Short

Scottsbluff was the 2-1 winner over Kearney when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Scottsbluff fell just short of Kearney by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Scottsbluff sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 17-25, 25-23.

Addy Bowlin paced Scottsbluff's offense, picking up 12 kills. Bowlin got some help from Lillian Hays and her 23 assists. Finally, Bowlin was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Scottsbluff has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Kearney, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Scottsbluff has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Norfolk on the 13th. As for Kearney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Millard North on the 13th.
