Volleyball Recap: Purdue Polytechnic Takes a Loss

If Purdue Polytechnic was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Providence Cristo Rey on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Techies came up short against the Cathedral Fighting Irish on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-13, 25-12.

Purdue Polytechnic's offense was headlined by Magdalena Wiegel and Camara Walker-Brown, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Kaida Lovett and her six assists.

Leading Cathedral to victory were Celeste Mariani and Reagan Futa. Mariani had seven digs and six aces, while Futa had three aces and one assist. Those seven digs gave Mariani a new career-high.

Purdue Polytechnic's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Cathedral, their victory bumped their record up to 18-9.

Purdue Polytechnic has already played their next match (against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Cathedral, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Covenant Christian on the 8th.
