Basketball Recap: John Curtis Christian Comes Up Short

John Curtis Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Catholic Bears. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Bears are ranked first).

John Curtis Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Curtis Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lafayette Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Catholic, they will take on Ridge Point in a tournament on Friday. One thing working in Ridge Point's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
