Basketball Recap: El Paso Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when El Paso challenged Franklin on Friday. The El Paso Tigers took a blow against the Franklin Cougars, falling 78-32. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marley Montanez, who posted seven points and eight boards.

Franklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allison De La O, who had 13 points in addition to six steals and five assists. De La O has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Lee, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

El Paso is on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13. As for Franklin, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

El Paso wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-35 loss against Ironwood Ridge on the 6th. As for Franklin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-41 win against Dobson on the 6th.
