Basketball Recap: Barr-Reeve's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Barr-Reeve unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to the Southridge Raiders on the road by a 64-48 margin. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Barr-Reeve lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Korben Boyd, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 10 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kierson Lengacher, who posted ten points.

Barr-Reeve's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Southridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Barr-Reeve will head out to square off against Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Barr-Reeve is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. As for Southridge, they will challenge Boonville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Southridge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
