Preview: North Salinas Vikings vs. Pacific Grove Breakers
The North Salinas Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pacific Grove Breakers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, North Salinas took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 46-6 win over King City.
Kai Ceralde and Justin Pascone were among the main playmakers for North Salinas as the former rushed for 20 yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Pascone is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Pacific Grove put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Soledad 28-8.
North Salinas' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-2. To be fair, it's not like the team was facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Soledad and 0-6 Gilroy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 12.5% over those games). As for Pacific Grove, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 6-0.
