Basketball Game Preview: Kiowa Cowboys vs. Stuart Hornets

Kiowa and Stuart are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Kiowa Cowboys will take on the Stuart Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Kiowa took their matchup with ease, bagging a 72-39 win over Canadian. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Stuart, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-54 victory over Hominy on Tuesday.

Kiowa is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Stuart, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Kiowa didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Stuart in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kiowa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
