Basketball Recap: Shawnee Mission West Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission West was the 42-37 winner over Blue Valley when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Shawnee Mission West Vikings lost 58-33 to the Blue Valley Tigers on Saturday.

Shawnee Mission West's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Blue Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-8 record.

Shawnee Mission West and Blue Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. Shawnee Mission West will take on Olathe South at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 184 places (255 vs. 71). Meanwhile, Blue Valley (ranked 229th) will meet Washburn Rural (ranked 51st) on Tuesday.
