Basketball Recap: Port Allegany Comes Up Short

Port Allegany suffered their biggest defeat since February 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Otto-Eldred Terrors, falling 64-39. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Terrors are ranked 70th).

When it comes to explaining why Port Allegany lost, don't look at Jarrod Funk. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points. Isac Amell was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Port Allegany's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Otto-Eldred, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0.

Port Allegany has already played their next game, a 59-37 win against Smethport on the 16th. As for Otto-Eldred, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-11 victory against Northern Potter on the 16th.
