Baseball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Weymouth's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Weymouth unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 4-1 to the Norwell Clippers. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Clippers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Weymouth got a good showing from Owen Shom, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Shom has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Weymouth's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Norwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Weymouth nor Norwell have any future games scheduled.
