Football Recap: Timpview Beats Wasatch for Their Third Straight Win

With a playoff win on the line, Timpview rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wasatch Wasps with a sharp 40-15 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Thunderbirds, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Cole Engemann went supernova, throwing for 328 yards and three TDs while completing 73.5% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in September. Taani Tuha handled things on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Timpview didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Wasatch to a completion percentage of just 42.1%. The team can thank Trinity To'a for the heroic effort on defense: he. Timpview wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 74.3%.

Timpview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jackson Palmer and Tonga Tauteoli. Tauteoli got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Wasatch lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ben Brand, who rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. Joseph Bradley also helped out as he racked up 111 rushing yards.

Timpview now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Wasatch, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Timpview will face off against Orem at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. Wasatch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
