Recap: Clairton Bears vs. Ringgold Rams
After losing to the Ringgold Rams the last time they met, the Clairton Bears decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Clairton enjoyed a cozy 64-49 win over Ringgold on Saturday. Given Clairton's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Ringgold is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
DaShawn Hines was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Qua?jon Miller, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
The victory got Clairton back to even at 1-1. As for Ringgold, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clairton will take on Brownsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ringgold, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Albert Gallatin at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Albert Gallatin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
