Baseball Recap: Southern Aroostook Takes a Loss

After flying high against Ashland on Thursday, Southern Aroostook came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Central Aroostook Panthers by a score of 11-10 on Monday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 18-5.

Ethan Collier was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Kuindersma, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Southern Aroostook now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Central Aroostook, they moved to 2-7 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Southern Aroostook will square off against Hodgdon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Aroostook, they will head out on the road to take on Ashland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
