Softball Recap: Rising Sun Shiners vs. Indianapolis Lutheran Saints

Rising Sun extended their postseason success on Saturday against Indianapolis Lutheran. They put the hurt on the Indianapolis Lutheran Saints with a sharp 12-5 win. Winning may never get old, but Rising Sun sure is getting used to it with their 22nd in a row.

Elaina Titkemeyer was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Titkemeyer was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Ryan Works was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Emma Russell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Rising Sun's victory bumped their record up to 26-1. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-10.

Rising Sun will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Tecumseh at 7:00 p.m. Tecumseh will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Rising Sun surely won't give up without a fight. Indianapolis Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
