Basketball Recap: University Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University). They really took it to the Anderson Prep Academy Jets for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-32 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-15.

University had a senior duo take command as Mackenzie Feeney made all 5 shots she took racking up 11 points along with eight assists and seven boards and Gabby Culp shot 63% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for Culp. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Culp, who went 6-for-8 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

University was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

University's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Anderson Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, University will head out on the road to square off against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trailblazers will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Anderson Prep Academy, they will square off against Central Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
