Basketball Recap: Beardstown Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central/Southeastern, Beardstown was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They snuck past the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats with a 38-33 win. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 58-49 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Beardstown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beardstown will be home for the holidays to greet Brown County on Friday. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, they will welcome Peoria Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
