Softball Recap: Belfry Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tolsia last Tuesday, Belfry came back down to earth. The Pirates fell just short of the Pikeville Panthers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

With the defeat, Belfry broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for Pikeville, they moved to 4-9 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belfry will head out to face off against Chapmanville Regional at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pikeville, they will venture away from home to square off against Tug Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
