Parker Matlock commands the offense for a Wildcats win

Recap: Westbrook Wildcats vs. Abilene Christian Panthers

The Westbrook Wildcats had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They skirted past Abilene Christian 50-48.

Westbrook's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Matlock, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan King, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryinn Waggoner, who scored eight points along with six assists and six rebounds. Waggoner hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Brooks Armstrong, who scored 13 points.

Westbrook now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Abilene Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Westbrook will be playing at home against Midland Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland Classical Academy is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Abilene Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against All Saints Episcopal School on Tuesday. All Saints Episcopal School is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
