Volleyball Recap: Morgan Township Falls Despite Big Games from Maria Ising and Lexi Rippe

After flying high against Hebron on Tuesday, Morgan Township came back down to earth. The Cherokees fell 3-1 to the Boone Grove Wolves on Thursday. The Cherokees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Morgan Township ultimately came up short, they really made Boone Grove work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Morgan Township's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lexi Rippe, who had 18 digs and three assists, and Maria Ising, who had nine digs. Rippe is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Morgan Township's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Boone Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Morgan Township has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Crown Point on the 27th. Boone Grove has also already played their next contest (against South Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
