Basketball Recap: Twin Valley Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Twin Valley can now relate to. They were beaten by the Williamstown Blue Devils 74-29 on Friday. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Twin Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Niko Gerding posted 18 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Williamstown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evan Bailey, who had 11 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Bailey is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Quentavas Horace, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

Twin Valley moved to 15-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Williamstown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Twin Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williamstown, they have already played their next match, a 55-38 defeat against West Rutland on the 3rd.
