Baseball Recap: Piper Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Piper put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. Everything went their way against the Boyd Anderson Cobras as the Piper Bengals made off with a 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bengals, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Beckett Noll made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Noll was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Piper got a massive performance out of Joel Arroyo, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Austin Engle also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Piper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .409 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Piper is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Boyd Anderson and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Piper will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Olympic Heights at 6:30 p.m. As for Boyd Anderson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Fort Lauderdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
