Volleyball Recap: Mojave Gets the Win

Mojave's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Durango Trailblazers. The Rattlers haven't had any issues with the Trailblazers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Mojave had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-21.

Albert 'AJ' Tuitele paced Mojave's offense, picking up 18 kills. Tuitele got some help from Aaron Bagalawis and his 41 assists. Finally, Quintrell McGee and Kaleb Law kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

James Carl Serrano and Miguel Villa Tovar certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Serrano had 31 assists and three aces, while Villa Tovar had nine kills, nine digs, and five aces. Villa Tovar has been hot, having posted nine or more kills the last five times he's played.

Mojave's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Durango, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.

Mojave wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Southeast Career Tech on the 22nd. As for Durango, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Bonanza on the 22nd.
