Baseball Recap: Hall-Dale Comes Up Short

Hall-Dale had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Maranacook Black Bears, falling 13-4. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Maranacook, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Maranacook's part, Noah Longfellow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Longfellow has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases.

In other batting news, Will Watson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Grant Walters was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hall-Dale will welcome Oak Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maranacook, they will host Mount View at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
