Basketball Recap: George Washington Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact George Washington can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Rangeview Raiders and fell 77-47. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost three in a row.

George Washington's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Trimm, who posted 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Trimm is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Malachi Headrick was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Rangeview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenny Black-Knox, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Black-Knox has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Archie Weatherspoon V, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 17 points and three steals.

George Washington's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Rangeview, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-0.

George Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rangeview, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-69 win against Regis Jesuit on the 8th.
