Basketball Game Preview: Dunlap Eagles vs. Canton Little Giants

The Dunlap Eagles and the Canton Little Giants will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunlap knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Canton likes a good challenge.

Dunlap will bounce into Friday's game after beating East Peoria, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Dunlap walked away with a 77-66 win over East Peoria on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Raiders are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, Canton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Metamora an easy 73-47 win.

Dunlap picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Dunlap strolled past Canton when the teams last played back in January by a score of 68-52. Will Dunlap repeat their success, or does Canton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
