Baseball Game Preview: South Hills Huskies vs. San Dimas Saints

For the second straight game, South Hills will face off against San Dimas. The Huskies will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Saints at 3:30 p.m. South Hills is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

While South Hills' victory against San Dimas wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies skirted past the Saints 3-1.

Joseph Moreno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ayden Vieth, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

South Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.

South Hills pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for San Dimas, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
