Softball Recap: Bayfront Charter Comes Up Short

Bayfront Charter dropped their record down to 5-16 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Liberty Charter Lions, falling 11-1. Sharks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Lions since on Tuesday.

Bayfront Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriella Loera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Another was Anahi Del Rosario, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

As for Liberty Charter, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15 runs.

On Liberty Charter's side, they got a massive performance out of Angie Carreon, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Montgomery, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayfront Charter will welcome San Diego Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sharks are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Liberty Charter, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Ocean View Christian at 4:00 p.m. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.93 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
