Trenton barely beat Madison County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Cowboys 8-2 on Tuesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Mason VunCannon was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Jordan Marlo was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brant Bivens, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win was the fifth in a row for Trenton, bringing their record up to 16-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Madison County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Trenton will take on Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison County, they will face off against Cottondale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
