Basketball Recap: Hough Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hough entered their tilt with Harding University on Tuesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Harding University Rams 60-57. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-56 back in January.

Hough's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Otto led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Otto is becoming a predictor of Hough's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 8-3 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Judah Freeman, who went 9-for-18 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Harding University saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kaharri Coleman went 10-for-23 to rack up 29 points along with five assists and three steals. Coleman continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Decker, who posted six points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Hough's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Harding University, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-17.

Hough has already played their next game, a 67-45 victory against Lake Norman Charter on the 12th. Harding University has also already played their next match (against West Mecklenburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
