Softball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

Lakeland lost against Frenchtown back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hawks came up short against the Broncs, falling 15-8. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ada Blakemore was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Reece Dutton was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Frenchtown, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland will square off against Moscow at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.83 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Frenchtown, they will challenge Corvallis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncs are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
